On March 23, a delegation from the School of Mechanical Engineering, led by Liu Pan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University, visited China General Technology Group (Genertec) in Beijing. They held talks with Ma Kehui, Director and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Genertec, on serving the strategy of building a manufacturing powerhouse and deepening university-enterprise cooperation. Attendees included Huang Jigang, Director of the Human Resources Department of Genertec; Gao Changcai, Deputy General Manager of the Technology Innovation and Digitalization Department, along with other relevant department heads; Yin Guodong, Dean of the Research Institute of Southeast University; Wang Jun, Party Secretary of the School of Mechanical Engineering; Hua Liangliang, Deputy Director of the Office of Domestic Cooperation; and Liu Xiaojun, Associate Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering. This visit was a key stop in the university's "Recruiting Talents from Excellent Enterprises" targeted job-seeking and internship expansion initiative, and also a practical step by the School of Mechanical Engineering to promote collaborative education and joint research between the university and enterprises.

Ma Kehui welcomed the delegation and introduced the development of Genertec. He stated that as a central state-owned enterprise undertaking national missions, Genertec has always been committed to serving the manufacturing powerhouse strategy, playing an important role in achieving self-reliance in high-end equipment and breakthroughs in core technologies. He noted that Southeast University has strong engineering capabilities, and in particular, the School of Mechanical Engineering has deep roots and outstanding advantages in fields such as industrial machine tools and high-end equipment, which are highly aligned with Genertec's industrial development direction. This creates broad prospects for cooperation. He expressed hope for deepening collaboration in talent cultivation, scientific research, and platform construction, jointly contributing to the building of a manufacturing powerhouse.

Liu Pan expressed gratitude for Genertec's long-term support for the development of Southeast University and introduced the university's history, disciplinary strengths, and talent cultivation. He pointed out that Southeast University adheres to the philosophy of "building reputation through science and serving the nation through talents," making service to national strategies the highest goal of student employment. He noted that Genertec is a key force driving national industrial upgrading and achieving self-reliance in high-end equipment, and that the two sides share a common mission and complementary advantages. The School of Mechanical Engineering, as a traditional strength of the university, has strong research capabilities and abundant talent reserves, and has already established a good foundation for cooperation with Genertec. He looked forward to taking this opportunity to sign a long-term strategic cooperation agreement, jointly establish internship and practice bases, and carry out comprehensive cooperation in areas such as joint training of outstanding engineers and breakthroughs in key core technologies, accelerating the construction of an integrated industry-university-research system to better serve national strategic needs.

In the afternoon, Liu Pan and his delegation visited the Shunyi campus of Genertec's Machine Tool Research Institute, where they gained a detailed understanding of the institute's R&D achievements and industrial layout in high-end CNC machine tools and precision machining. As the research institution for industrial machine tools under Genertec, the Machine Tool Research Institute is a true "national team." The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key directions in mechanical engineering such as intelligent equipment and advanced manufacturing, reviewing previous cooperation foundations and future technological breakthroughs.

The School of Mechanical Engineering will further leverage its disciplinary advantages to elevate cooperation from project-based R&D to platform co-construction and collaborative innovation, empowering high-quality industrial development through technological innovation and contributing to the strategy of building a manufacturing powerhouse.
